Help with makeup / foundation?

I never really wore cover up before except the powder stuff sometimes, so I have a few questions.

What is the best liquid foundation? What is the best way to apply it, so it looks natural and won't look clumpy?

Also, I'm terrible with choosing the right colours, but I do know what colour to use for the powder form, so would I use the same colour for the liquid too? I use creamy beige, but what would I choose if they didn't have a colour named that?Help with makeup / foundation?
yeah preety much u would use the same color of liquid foundation.

oh and u can apply it by dotting it all over your face with your finger tips or u can use a brush. whatever u do just make sure u blendin really well. and finally just set it with a bit of powder just so itll last longer and to control oilyness.Help with makeup / foundation?
For a really good coverage liquid foundation, I'm loving Revlon ColorStay. It's about $13 and it's incredibly good. The best way to apply it is either with a sponge and pat it on, then blend it OR using a foundation brush. I think using the sponge is a bit easier for beginners than the foundation brush. But i'll give you a tutorial below.

Choosing the right color.. the best way to go is to go a few shades lighter than your powder color. Something like natural beige or nude [colorstay colors].

If you never wore a liquid foundation before you will hate it especially in the summer months. I used to wear it and I have found that mineral powder is the best option. I sell Mary Kay and they have a fantastic Mineral Powder Foundation. For me and my friends we find it tried and true, it doesn't drip down your face just blot and you will not have to reapply. Also it lasts all day. Apply once and that is it. I do sometimes touch up if it makes me feel better. Sometimes I wear it an nothing else and everyone thinks I just have this beautiful flawless skin (far from it). I suggest based on what you were using to try Beige 1. You can always ask your local consultant to provide you with samples and a makeover for the best color. Good Luck.
Im not sure what the best liquid foundation would be, when you are in the store looking ask somebody who works there, they should have a good idea :]

Check on your hand with a tester to see what colour you are , if its okay try the shade lighter and darker to see if either of them is better :]

If they dont have creamy beige just go to a colour you think MIGHT be the right one and test it

And apply it with a sponge to make it look more natural and even :D

You could always put a little loose powder on top to stop it from going shiny and it keeps it on longer

Sorry its so long :]
ok, i like cover girl liquid foundation, that seems to work for me

how to allpy it: i get a makeup sponge and dap the foundation onto the sponge and sread it around and try to get it to blend is as much as i can

and for the color: look on the back or bottom of ur powder, it should give u a color for foundation that would look good.

if it doesnt the look of a bottle of foundation that u think would look good on u, and hold the bottle up to ur hand like when ur thumb is and try to see how close u can get it to your skin color
the best foundation i think is MAC studio fix powder and liquid. for lower end quality, Cover Girl has one in a bottle with a pump. the best way to choose a colour is to ask the make up artist or sales person in the make up aisle to help you. that way they know what the are doing.

TIP: instead of trying out foundation on your hand, try it out on your jawline because it is colour to your face colour.
Always buy a liquid foundation closest to your skin. If there's not an exact match then always buy one a shade LIGHTER than your skin, never darker.

To apply it use a foundation brush, or your fingers. I think makeup sponges don't work, but other people find them easier so that's up to you (:

Powder is not too hard, just buy one that looks close to your skin colour. If you can't decide just buy a transparent one (:

Good luck :D

always match the shade to ur inner wrist. in the summer ur outter wrist. the best way is to use a cream to powder i use either a make-up pad or a brush to evenly distribute it.

try avon the product is light airy and wonderful
i suggest you make your own with the creative cosmetics kit.. you can buy it at scholars choice.... and you can make your own make-up from it. foundation, lipgloss....... everything
I can only answer one of your questions. You should apply liquid foundation with a sponge to make it natural looking.
Use the same color liquid as you do powder! Also apply it all over your face so that it doesn't look blotchy.

try prescriptives, they make foundation to match your skin and you can choose powder or liquid.

How to Choose Foundation

Choosing a foundation is may not be as easy as it seems. Every woman has a different skin texture and toning. The cosmetic counters may not necessarily have the perfect match for each of them and hence, it becomes difficult to choose foundation. Here, we are making choosing a foundation quite simpler than what a general belief is.

When anyone tries a sample on themselves, one should not try to match the face, but the neck. Usually, the face tends to be brighter as compared to the neck. One requires getting the right tone for matching the neck and face. If, in case, finding the perfect match for the neck becomes difficult and somehow any color gets wrong, try two different shades: one slightly brighter and the another slightly duller than the body skin. With these two tones, one can use the brighter one as a highlighter and the duller one as shading or one can simply mix or blend them together for creating the original, perfect match.

Some important thing for choosing a foundation

A woman should first note that foundation makeup is just that 鈥?the layer on what all the other makeup will lie. How good the foundation makeup appears will determine how the rest of the cosmetic applications look, so one should keep in mind that foundation makeup is not intended for changing the skin鈥檚 complexion. It is entailed matching the color as close as possible.

A woman with sickly looking skin is not effort to pink the skin tone with any rose-colored foundation makeup, and on the other hand, pale-colored woman is not to attempt any tan with any bronze shades. This is because bronzers are used to offer skin sun-kissed look, but they are generally in some type of powdered form and are meant to be used after makeup application. In any case, the women should opt to match their skins鈥?tone as close as possible. If the foundations match the skin, then their blush and powder match also.

The availability

Foundation makeup is readily available in dozens of types such as liquid, creams, sticks, creams-to-powder, and so forth. Liquid foundation makeup is the most generally available and can be found in departmental stores or in cosmetic stores. Depending upon the maker and the purpose, such liquids can range from giving very bright coverage to moderate one. Foundations in creams and sticks give moderate to heavy shades, ranging to the consistency of spackling compound. Cream-to-powder forms begin as a cream foundation and dry to get some powder finishing. A woman got to think carefully about what exactly she requires for her foundation makeup to perform before she purchases it. Foundation makeup can mask the small wrinkles, for example, but may not work miracles. Also, foundation makeup, which is applied too heavily, sinks into the skins鈥?crevices and promotes defining the creases.

Simple steps choosing a foundation

All in all, let us have a quickly look on simple steps to choose a foundation

Determine the skin type: This dictates the foundation formula one should buy. If one has oily skin; an oil-free, liquid foundation with some matte finish will do. If one has drier skin, creamy foundation having a dewy finish adds hydration plus soft sheens.

Visit many departmental stores: You may not find appropriate foundation at one place so visit many.

Prefer yellow-based shades: Foundations having a yellow base or undertone offers the best since they give natural appearance (most of us got yellowish in our skin, it does not matter how dark or fair we are). One should avoid foundations having obvious pinkish or peach casts that appear unnatural on virtually ever person

Test it: This is important and you should give up testing foundation on the hand or wrist 鈥?remember, they are totally different from your face. Instead, take a cotton swab and swipe a three or four shades鈥?possibilities onto the jaw line.

Watch out under natural light: This gives real impression. It is best way to figure out which of the test shades suits your perfect. The one that appears to blend into the skin with no detectable outline is the perfect match.
