Experienced makeup people about eyeshadow applicators! Help!?

Are the brushes that come with sponge tip make up applicators (like when you buy clinique or shiseido eyeshadow) the same as eyeshadow brushes or are they different? It seems the brushes that come along with the sponge tips can't get any color onto my lids even if it comes with a good quality eyeshadow kit...Should I buy a seperate brush or is it the same thing?Experienced makeup people about eyeshadow applicators! the brushes and sponges that come with eye shadows are generally not great quality, and i would suggest that you invest in some real brushes. i've tried many of the brushes and sponges that came with eye shadows i've purchased and never found one which can blend as nicely, or make the colors look right. you don't have to spend a tonne of money to buy MAC brushes, or other expensive brand brushes, try looking on the net for some inexpensive make-up brushes. coastal scents and E.L.F are two brands which sell make-up brushes for affordable prices.Experienced makeup people about eyeshadow applicators! Basically you should stay away from sponge applicators when it comes to eye shadows.





Ever heard the saying that kid's minds are like sponges? this is because they absorb everything. The same rule applies to makeup





Sponges absorb makeup - wasting product and not applying enough colour.





Investing in a quality eyeshadow brush will be worth your while as not only will you use less product, brushes allow for better blending and longer lasting makeup.





Makeup companies put sponges in their eyeshadow kits because its cheaper, and they make more money out of product wasteage.





Dont go and throw your sponges out however - they can be a great tool for blending.

Forget sponge applicators all together. They tend to absorb product instead of apply it.





Try purchasing a 239 and a 219. A shader and a ponytail brush from MAC. They are my favourite brushes. A 239 is really good for a colour over the lid and a 219 is really good for a crease or outer corner colour and blending.





If you still can't get good colour pay off with those brushes....try using a primer, or a shimmery/velvety eyeshadow....

those ones you get with your make up are no good like you said they dont get much eye shadow on your eye lid. try going to target they have some really good eye shadow brushes for a good price. just remeber that in order to get good brushes you have to spend like $10 because if there cheap when you clean them the brissiles will fall out. if your willing to invest some good money then try M.A.C brushes there super soft and worth the money

you should try a makeup primer. or, if you wear a liquid foundation, swipe a bit over your eyelid. I always set my liquid foundation with a translucent powder. This makes a primer. The colors I put on my eye lid (with a brush OR sponge app) always stick and stay put all day.
its not the best quality, but it will do the job i guess.


I suggest going to M.A.C or any other good make up store
